Starting A Writing Project

I have an idea for a sci-fi movie.

6 months—1 year.

If there’s one story I’d like to do, it’s one that I can recall from memory, as if it was already written once before. Much of it could be about the past few decades of history, and what some of us were doing online. But this is cooler. And it’s in meatspace.

What is it about?

Basically it’s about accelerationists in a futuristic version of the United States (a dystopia). Criminals, extremists, outlaws, vigilantes; they all band together, to try to tear down a corrupt establishment. One that isn’t as it appears to be.

Just like their rockabilly style leader, an enforcer for the technocratic government that rules with an iron fist, he is more machine than man. His brother becomes wise to him.

With their heavily armed, high-powered armored hover cars, and penchant for violence—they find ways to outgun the technocracy’s enforcers. A task thought impossible by any ordinary citizen.

Are you on Team Red or Team Blue?

A girl with schizophrenia that to some allegedly has all the answers. Her writing attracts the attention of the group. She is kidnapped by them with her sister.

Blowing up a nuclear power plant in the desert with a beam cannon attached to the hood of a car to disable the power grid.

Criminal hitmen working for the group go to any length to complete the mission, and their many great sins are looked past.

Getting help from inside. A developer of computer applications helps the group. Until he turns informant.

Memetic warfare. Hacking the population’s minds with entertaining memes to swing public opinion against the government.

Putting in power the one elected official that matters most, the President, with the help of foreign adversaries. And criminals.

Robbing the system’s banks, whether real or virtual, to fund their agenda. Moving the needle isn’t free by any means.

Taking over the news, with their own programming, in-turn covering their shenanigans while on the road.

In the end their leader is captured though, after a documentarian follows them recording their activities, and their punishment issued by the government begins. Fighting against each other in a simulated world. Tearing apart the union they once shared together. Until they can escape. If they can escape.

What is it called?

Yet to be determined. I was thinking “Accelerate" to be incredibly simple. I already have some bands in mind for the soundtrack.
